Nearly all those Jews who survived in Częstochowa until the end of the War did so as slave-labourers in HASAG-Pelcery.

We visited this site together with some Survivors whose memories are still both very real and very painful.

The Jewish Cemetery Today

The Częstochowa Jewish Cemetery dates back to the late 18th Century. It is the third largest Jewish cemetery in Poland, containing around 4,500 graves in about 8.5 hectares. The last burial here took place in 1973.
