In 1942, around 40,000 Jews from our home city and its surrounding area were transported from this site to the gas chambers of the Treblinka extermination camp.

As is traditional at each of our Reunions, we paid tribute to these victims at the memorial, on the Umschlagplatz, created by our beloved late landsmann, Samuel Willenberg z”l.
