Many of the Częstochowa Jews who survived did so as slave labourers in the munitions factory which once operated on this site.

One of those is our World Society President, Sigmund Rolat, who took Reunion participants on a tour of the grounds, describing
the conditions under which the labourers suffered here.

The Jewish Cemetery Today

The Częstochowa Jewish Cemetery dates back to the late 18th Century. It is the third largest Jewish cemetery in Poland, containing around 4,500 graves in about 8.5 hectares. The last burial here took place in 1973.
